Reading Ann Voskamp's books really makes geography come to life. The first book she has out is phenomenal. It's an overview of geography, written with such rich and lively prose. I highly recommend it.
I've been reading the later chapters over the weekend and it is flat out captivating. It is truly inspired. Ann is a phenomenal wordsmith, crafting the most beautiful sentences. I think these books are going to the take the homeschool world by storm….the homeschool world needs you, Ann!

I REALLY like A Child’s Geography. I used Story of the World with my daughter and we loved that. A Child’s Geography is very similar—and it includes God! A Child’s Geography also reminds me of Jeannie Fulbright's Elementary Science series by Apologia.

I have heard other [geography courses] described as being workbook-y and there is a real need that A Child’s Geography has filled!

We are going through Ann Voskamp's incredible geography book, "A Child's Geography--Explore His Earth," and just loving it. Seriously, if you have children who love read-alouds and hands-on activities, I simply cannot recommend this book enough. I think what I love best is how God-centered it is. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Plus, it's impressive, you know, when you've been studying geography for forty-five minutes and your children are still begging you to keep on going…This lady has a gift, that's all there is to it.

Wanted to tell you that I read through the book last week and LOVED IT!!!!!!! This is EXACTLY what I have been looking for. I like the Ultimate Guide to Geography and Around the World in 180 Days but, honestly, they don't work as well with our living book studies. I want my children to develop a love for learning about this world that God has created.
I have found that "A Child's Geography" is that kind of tool! As a homeschooling mother of nine, I know that my children will greatly enjoy this format and that makes my job much easier. I think your curriculum is WONDERFUL and I consider it a treasure! "

My son is SO enjoying this book. He asks to do geography every single day (which we have) & says it's his new favorite subject.

We just love A Child's Geography, and everything about it. The only thing we regret is that each lesson is over so quickly!

DON'T STOP!!!! We are finishing up Galloping the Globe and Apologia Astronomy with my young ones. I plan on then reading A Child’s Geography. My children will LOVE it. I wish I had known about this months ago! I will pass it on to my sister for her youngest. I will be interested in anything else you write!

Your book is so clear and entertaining! Like I said before – your writing creates a relationship with the child – all alone – and that is when learning occurs.

We read through chapter 2 today. We loved it! This evening spontaneously my son was telling my husband about the three layers around the earth (a voluntary narration, that's what we like to see!)
We had bought Jeannie Fulbright's 'Exploring Creation With Astronomy' and I came to the conclusion we would spend time on both Jeannie’s and yours each week. I see the two books as being quite complementary as 'A Child's Geography' focuses on our planet in detail and Jeannie's book has one lesson out of fourteen on earth.

I was hoping to start doing some geography with my children this coming year , but I was having a hard time finding an interesting resource! I love Charlotte Mason's ideas, and try to incorporate them into our homeschool. Your book is just what I was looking for!
